अयं निष्ठानको घोरः शोकेन समभिप्लुतः ।
तं न पश्यामहे लोके यो नः शरणदो भवेत् ॥६-९५-४०॥
ayaṃ niṣṭhānako ghoraḥ śokena samabhiplutaḥ |
taṃ na paśyāmahe loke yo naḥ śaraṇado bhavet ॥6-95-40॥
Translation
This terrible time of final destruction, overwhelmed with grief, has arrived. We see no one in this world who could provide us with refuge.
हिंदी अनुवाद
शोक से भरा हुआ यह भयंकर विनाश का समय आ गया है। हम संसार में ऐसा किसी को भी नहीं देख रही हैं जो अब हमें शरण दे सके।
English Commentary
Lanka now suffers from a lack of 'Sharaṇa' (refuge). The term 'Nishthanakah' (time of conclusion/destruction) indicates that no escape remains. The demons who once terrified others are now desperate for a protector. This depicts the final stage of unrighteousness where one finds oneself utterly alone and helpless. No power was left in Lanka to shield them from Shri Rama's wrath.
हिंदी टीका
लंका में अब 'शरण' (आश्रय) का अभाव है। 'निष्ठानकः' (विनाश का समय) शब्द यह बताता है कि अब बचने का कोई मार्ग नहीं बचा है। जो राक्षस दूसरों को डराते थे, वे आज एक रक्षक के लिए तरस रहे हैं। यह अधर्म की वह अंतिम अवस्था है जहाँ व्यक्ति स्वयं को अकेला और असहाय पाता है। श्री राम के कोप से बचाने वाली कोई शक्ति लंका में शेष नहीं थी।
