अद्य बाणैर्धनुर्मुक्तैर्युगान्तादित्यसन्निभैः ।
राघवं लक्ष्मणं चैव नेष्यामि यमसादनम् ॥६-९६-१०॥
adya bāṇair dhanurmuktaīr-yugāntādityasannibhaīḥ |
rāghavaṃ lakṣmaṇaṃ caiva neṣyāmi yamasādanam ॥6-96-10॥
Translation
Today, with arrows released from my bow—radiant like the sun at the end of an eon—I shall send both Shri Rama and Lakshmana to the abode of Death.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आज मैं अपने धनुष से छोड़े गए प्रलयकाल के सूर्य के समान तेजस्वी बाणों से श्री राम और लक्ष्मण को यमलोक पहुँचा दूँगा।
English Commentary
Ravana compares his arrows to the 'Sun of Dissolution,' indicating his belief in his own catastrophic power. His vow to send the brothers to the 'Abode of Death' reflects a delusion of being superior to Time itself. He fails to comprehend the divinity of His adversaries. This verse marks the formal proclamation of his final, fatal transgression.

रावण अपने बाणों की तुलना 'युगान्त-आदित्य' (प्रलय के सूर्य) से करता है, जो उसके विनाशकारी सामर्थ्य का सूचक है। 'यमसादनम्' (यमलोक) पहुँचाने की प्रतिज्ञा उसके उस भ्रम को दर्शाती है जहाँ वह स्वयं को काल से भी ऊपर मान रहा है। वह भूल गया है कि वह किनके सम्मुख खड़ा है। यह श्लोक उसके अंतिम और सबसे बड़े अपराध की घोषणा है।
