नैवान्तरिक्षं न दिशो न नद्यो नापि सागराः ।
प्रकाशत्वं गमिष्यन्ति मद्बाणजलदावृताः ॥६-९६-१२॥
naivāntarikṣaṃ na diśo na nadyo nāpi sāgarāḥ |
prakāśatvaṃ gamiṣyanti madbāṇajaladāvṛtāḥ ॥6-96-12॥
Translation
Covered by the clouds of my arrows, neither the sky, nor the directions, nor the rivers, nor the oceans shall remain visible; all shall be obscured.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मेरे बाण रूपी बादलों से ढक जाने के कारण न तो आकाश, न दिशाएं, न नदियाँ और न ही समुद्र दिखाई देंगे; सब ओर अंधकार छा जाएगा।
English Commentary
Ravana boasts about the density of his archery. Intoxicated by his mastery of weapons, he claims he will eclipse even the light of nature. The metaphor 'clouds of my arrows' depicts his massive military strength and destructive intent. He aims to assert total dominance over the physical world through sheer volume of firepower.

रावण अपनी बाण-वर्षा की सघनता का वर्णन कर रहा है। वह अपनी अस्त्र-विद्या के घमण्ड में यह दावा करता है कि वह प्रकृति के प्रकाश को भी रोक देगा। 'मद्बाण-जलद' (मेरे बाण रूपी बादल) उपमा उसकी विशाल सैन्य शक्ति और विनाशकारी संकल्प को दर्शाती है। वह सम्पूर्ण चराचर जगत को अपने बाणों के जाल में बांध लेने का दम्भ भर रहा है।
