अद्य वानरसैन्यानि रथेन पवनौजसा ।
धनुःसमुद्रादुद्भूतैर्मथिष्यामि शरोर्मिभिः ॥६-९६-१४॥
adya vānarasainyāni rathena pavanaujasā |
dhanuḥsamudrādudbhūtairmathiṣyāmi śarormibhiḥ ॥6-96-14॥
Translation
Today, mounted on a chariot as swift as the wind, I shall churn the Vanara armies with the waves of arrows rising from the ocean of my bow.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आज मैं वायु के समान वेग वाले अपने रथ पर सवार होकर, धनुष रूपी समुद्र से उत्पन्न होने वाली बाणों की लहरों से वानर सेना को मथ डालूँगा।
English Commentary
Ravana employs a grand metaphor here, likening his bow to an ocean and his arrows to its waves ('Sharormibhih'). The word 'Mathishyami' (I shall churn) signifies his overwhelming power. A chariot swift as the wind grants him unparalleled mobility. This verse captures the height of Ravana's martial imagination and his perceived dominance on the battlefield.

यहाँ रावण ने एक भव्य रूपक (Metaphor) का प्रयोग किया है। वह अपने धनुष को समुद्र और बाणों को उसकी लहरें (शरोर्मिभिः) बताता है। 'मथिष्यामि' (मथ डालना) शब्द उसके प्रचंड बल का सूचक है। वायु के समान वेग वाला रथ उसकी गतिशीलता को अजेय बनाता था। यह श्लोक रावण के सामरिक वैभव और उसकी संहारक कल्पना का शिखर है।
