जाम्बूनदमयैश्चैव सहस्रकलशैर्युतम् ।
तं दृष्ट्वा राक्षसाः सर्वे विस्मयं परमं ययुः ॥६-९६-३२॥
jāmbūnadama yaīścaiva sahasrakalaśai ryutam |
taṃ dṛṣṭvā rākṣasāḥ sarve vismayaṃ paramaṃ yayuḥ ॥6-96-32॥
Translation
It was equipped with thousands of jars made of refined gold. Beholding it, all the Rakshasas were struck with profound wonder.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह रथ सुवर्ण (जाम्बूनद) के बने हुए हजारों कलशों से युक्त था। उसे देखकर सभी राक्षस अत्यंत विस्मित हो गए।
English Commentary
The presence of 'thousands of jars' on the chariot is a demonic appropriation of divine auspicious symbols. Even the Rakshasas themselves were awestruck by its magnificence. This spectacle was designed to bolster Ravana's morale. 'Jambunada' signifies the highest quality of gold, portraying the final glowing moment of Lanka's 'Golden Era' before its sunset.

रथ पर 'हजारों कलश' होना उसकी दिव्यता और मांगलिक प्रतीकों का राक्षसी रूपांतरण है। यहाँ तक कि स्वयं राक्षस भी उसकी भव्यता देखकर चकित थे। यह दृश्य रावण के मनोबल को बढ़ाने के लिए रचा गया था। 'जाम्बूनद' स्वर्ण की श्रेष्ठता को दर्शाता है, जो लंका के 'स्वर्ण-युग' के अंतिम दीप्तिमान क्षण का चित्रण है।
