तं दृष्ट्वा सहसोत्थाय रावणो राक्षसेश्वरः ।
कोटिसूर्यप्रतीकाशं ज्वलन्तमिव पावकम् ॥६-९६-३३॥
taṃ dṛṣṭvā sahasotthāya rāvaṇo rākṣaseśvaraḥ |
koṭisūryapratīkāśaṃ jvalantamiva pāvakam ॥6-96-33॥
Translation
Seeing that chariot which resembled ten million suns and appeared like a blazing fire, Ravana, the lord of Rakshasas, suddenly rose up.
हिंदी अनुवाद
करोड़ों सूर्यों के समान चमकते हुए और जलती हुई अग्नि के समान उस रथ को देखकर राक्षसराज रावण अचानक उठ खड़ा हुआ।
English Commentary
The analogy to ten million suns highlights the overwhelming radiance of the chariot. Ravana's sudden rising reflects his frantic eagerness and agitation for battle. He could no longer endure waiting. The comparison to fire ('Pavakam') reinforces his destructive resolve. At this moment, Ravana stands at the very peak of his ego.
हिंदी टीका
करोड़ सूर्यों (कोटिसूर्य) की उपमा रथ के प्रचंड तेज को प्रकट करती है। रावण का 'सहसा उत्थाय' (अचानक उठना) उसकी युद्ध के प्रति आतुरता और उत्तेजना को दर्शाता है। वह अब और अधिक प्रतीक्षा नहीं कर सकता था। अग्नि (पावकम्) की उपमा उसके विनाशकारी संकल्प को पुष्ट करती है। यहाँ रावण अपने अहंकार के शिखर पर खड़ा है।
