तथा तैः कृत्तगात्रैस्तु दशग्रीवेण मार्गणैः ।
बभूव वसुधा तत्र प्रकीर्णा हरिभिस्तदा ॥६-९७-१॥
tathā taiḥ kṛttagātrastu daśagrīveṇa mārgaṇaiḥ |
babhūva vasudhā tatra prakīrṇā haribhistadā ॥6-97-1॥
Translation
At that time, the earth there became covered with those monkeys whose bodies were cut and mangled by the arrows of the ten-necked Ravana.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस समय दशग्रीव (रावण) के बाणों से छिन्न-भिन्न अंगों वाले उन वानरों से वहाँ की पृथ्वी पट गई (भर गई)।
English Commentary
This verse depicts the gruesome reality of the battlefield and the terrifying prowess of Ravana. The term 'mārgaṇaiḥ' refers to the arrows that were butchering the Vanara army. The image of the earth being carpeted with mangled bodies highlights the devastating impact of Ravana's entry into the battle. It sets a grim tone, emphasizing the overwhelming odds the Vanara army faced against the Demon King.

यहाँ युद्ध की विभीषिका और रावण के भयानक पराक्रम का चित्रण है। 'मार्गणैः' (बाणों) द्वारा वानरों के शरीर काटे जा रहे थे। यह दृश्य दर्शाता है कि जब रावण स्वयं युद्धभूमि में उतरा, तो वानर सेना की स्थिति कितनी दयनीय हो गई। पृथ्वी का वानरों के शवों और अंगों से भर जाना युद्ध की तीव्रता और रावण की संहारक शक्ति को रेखांकित करता है।
