ममन्थ च महाकायो राक्षसान् वानरेश्वरः ।
युगान्तसमये वायुः प्रवृद्धानगमानिव ॥६-९७-१०॥
mamantha ca mahākāyo rākṣasān vānaresvaraḥ |
yugāntasamaye vāyuḥ pravṛddhānagamāniva ॥6-97-10॥
Translation
The huge-bodied Lord of Monkeys crushed the Rakshasas just as the wind crushes full-grown trees at the time of the dissolution of the world.
हिंदी अनुवाद
विशाल शरीर वाले वानरराज ने राक्षसों को वैसे ही मथ डाला (कुचल दिया), जैसे प्रलयकाल (युगांत) के समय वायु बढ़े हुए वृक्षों को कुचल देती है।
English Commentary
The verb 'mamantha' (churned/crushed) evokes a visceral image of destruction. Comparing Sugriva to the wind at the 'end of the Yuga' (cosmic dissolution) elevates his stature to that of a divine destroyer. He is uprooting the Rakshasas effortlessly, much like a tempest uproots trees.

सुग्रीव के लिए 'ममन्थ' (मथ डाला) शब्द का प्रयोग उनके शारीरिक बल को दिखाता है। यहाँ पुनः 'युगांत समय' (प्रलय) और 'वायु' की उपमा दी गई है। जैसे आंधी वृक्षों को जड़ से उखाड़ देती है, वैसे ही सुग्रीव राक्षसों का विनाश कर रहे थे। यह धर्म और अधर्म के संघर्ष में धर्म पक्ष की शक्ति का प्रतीक है।
