प्लवङ्गानामनीकानि महाभ्राणीव मारुतः ।
स ययौ समरे तस्मिन् विधमन् रावणः शरैः ॥६-९७-४॥
plavaṅgānāmanīkāni mahābhrāṇīva mārutaḥ |
sa yayau samare tasmin vidhaman rāvaṇaḥ śaraiḥ ॥6-97-4॥
Translation
Just as the wind disperses massive clouds, Ravana advanced in that battle, scattering the monkey armies with his arrows.

जैसे वायु विशाल बादलों को छिन्न-भिन्न कर देती है, वैसे ही रावण उस युद्ध में अपने बाणों से वानर सेनाओं को बिखेरता हुआ आगे बढ़ा।
English Commentary
Ravana is equated to the wind ('mārutaḥ'), an elemental force that easily disperses clouds ('mahābhrāṇi'), representing the Vanara army. This metaphor emphasizes the ease with which Ravana dismantled the military formations. He was not just fighting; he was a force of nature clearing a path through the battlefield.
