आजघान गदां तस्य परिघेण हरीश्वरः ।
पपात स गदोद्भिन्नः परिघस्तस्य भूतले ोषताम्राक्षः समुद्यम्य महाहवे ॥६-९८-२२॥
ājaghāna gadāṃ tasya parigheṇa harīśvaraḥ |
papāta sa gadodbhinnaḥ parighastasya bhūtale ॥6-98-22॥
Translation
...and the Lord of Monkeys struck his mace with the club. Upon impact with the mace, that club broke and fell to the ground.
हिंदी अनुवाद
...तथा वानरराज ने अपने परिघ से उसकी गदा पर प्रहार किया। गदा से टकराकर (टूटकर) वह परिघ पृथ्वी पर गिर पड़ा।
English Commentary
A collision of two heavy weapons occurred. Sugriva struck the mace down in mid-air, but in the process, his own weapon (the club) was destroyed. 'Gadodbhinnah' means shattered by the mace. Now both warriors were on the verge of being unarmed.
हिंदी टीका
दो भारी हथियारों की टक्कर हुई। सुग्रीव ने गदा को हवा में ही मार गिराया, लेकिन इस प्रक्रिया में उनका अपना हथियार (परिघ) भी नष्ट हो गया। 'गदोद्भिन्नः' का अर्थ है गदा से टकराकर टूटा हुआ। अब दोनों योद्धा निहत्थे होने की कगार पर थे।
