उद्यतासी रणे हृष्टौ युधि शस्त्रविशारदौ ।
दक्षिणं मण्डलं चोभौ सुतूर्णं सम्परीयतुः ॥६-९८-३१॥
udyatāsī raṇe hṛṣṭau yudhi śastraviśāradau |
dakṣiṇaṃ maṇḍalaṃ cobhau sutūrṇaṃ samparīyatuḥ ॥6-98-31॥
Translation
With raised swords, delighted in battle and skilled in weaponry, both of them began to circle very quickly in the 'Dakshina Mandala' (clockwise direction).
हिंदी अनुवाद
तलवारें उठाए हुए, युद्ध में हर्षित और शस्त्र विद्या में निपुण वे दोनों रणभूमि में शीघ्रता से 'दक्षिण मंडल' (दाहिनी ओर) घूमने लगे।
English Commentary
The word 'hrishtau' (delighted) reflects warrior psychology—a true hero rejoices in finding a worthy opponent. 'Dakshina Mandala' is a technical maneuver in swordsmanship where warriors circle clockwise to protect their right side while seeking an opening to strike.
