English Commentary
Mahodara's error proves him to be 'durmati' (evil-minded/foolish). He struck Sugriva's shield with full force instead of his body, causing the sword to get stuck. This was a fatal mistake. Sugriva seized this momentary opening. In war, one wrong move can end a life.

महोदर की गलती उसे 'दुर्मति' सिद्ध करती है। उसने सुग्रीव के शरीर के बजाय उसकी ढाल पर पूरी ताकत से वार किया, जिससे तलवार फंस गई। यह एक घातक चूक थी। सुग्रीव ने इस क्षणिक अवसर का लाभ उठाया। युद्ध में एक गलत चाल जीवन समाप्त कर सकती है।
