Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
वानराश्च महासत्त्वाः प्रगृह्य विपुलाः शिलाः ।
प्रविश्यारिबलं भीमं जघ्नुस्ते रजनीचरान् ॥६-९८-८॥
vānarāśca mahāsattvāḥ pragṛhya vipulāḥ śilāḥ |
praviśyāribalaṃ bhīmaṃ jaghnuste rajanīcarān ॥6-98-8॥
Translation
The mighty monkeys, picking up huge rocks and entering the terrifying enemy army, began to kill those night-wanderers.
हिंदी अनुवाद
महाशक्तिशाली वानरों ने भी बड़ी-बड़ी चट्टानें उठाकर और भयानक शत्रु सेना में घुसकर उन निशाचरों को मारना शुरू किया।
English Commentary
The monkey army did not remain passive. The 'mahasattvah' (mighty) monkeys responded with their natural fighting style—rocks and trees. This verse illustrates the bilateral ferocity of the war; on one side were manufactured weapons, on the other, primal strength and weapons of nature.
हिंदी टीका
वानर सेना निष्क्रिय नहीं रही। 'महासत्त्वाः' (महान बल वाले) वानरों ने अपनी प्राकृतिक युद्ध शैली—चट्टानों और वृक्षों—से उत्तर दिया। यह श्लोक युद्ध की द्विपक्षीय भीषणता को दर्शाता है; जहाँ एक ओर अस्त्र-शस्त्र थे, वहीं दूसरी ओर आदिम बल और प्रकृति के हथियार थे।
