पफाल हृदयं चाशु स पपात हतो भुवि ।
तस्मिन्निपतिते भूमौ तत् सैन्यं सम्प्रचुक्षुभे ॥६-९९-२३॥
paphāla hṛdayaṃ cāśu sa papāta hato bhuvi |
tasminnipatite bhūmau tat sainyaṃ sampracukṣubhe ॥6-99-23॥
Translation
...heart burst open instantly, and he fell dead on the ground. As he fell on the ground, that army became completely agitated.
हिंदी अनुवाद
...हृदय शीघ्र ही फट गया और वह मरकर भूमि पर गिर पड़ा। उसके भूमि पर गिरते ही वह (राक्षस) सेना पूरी तरह क्षुब्ध (व्याकुल) हो गई।
English Commentary
The result was ghastly—'paphala hridayam' (the heart burst). This is the ultimate demonstration of brute force. As Mahaparshva fell, panic gripped the Rakshasa army. When a commander is killed so brutally, it is impossible for the soldiers' courage to hold.
हिंदी टीका
परिणाम भयानक था—'पफाल हृदयं' (हृदय फट गया)। यह पाशविक बल (brute force) का चरम निदर्शन है। महापार्श्व के गिरते ही राक्षस सेना में खलबली मच गई। जब सेनापति इतनी बुरी तरह मारा जाए, तो सैनिकों का साहस टिकना असंभव होता है।
